About Rebecca Drennan
Rebecca is a coach, a pastor, and a psychotherapist who has led groups and workshops in the Bay Area for twenty years and has recently moved to Columbia, South Carolina where she is continuing her work. In her practice she helps individuals, couples, and families explore underlying feelings and beliefs that limit life. She offers body-centered therapy and guided imagery to create options for transformation.
She works with clients on issues of intimacy and with couples on communication both before and after their weddings. She specializes in working with couples facing the challenges of conception and infertility. She assists patients struggling with life-altering illness in local hospitals, in her office, and in home settings. She works with families around issues of death and the dying process. She assists others in discovering their own unique gifts and overcoming psychological blocks which hold them back from living fulfilling lives.
With her training and experience as a physical therapist, a psychotherapist, and a interfaith pastor, Rebecca helps others connect with their deepest passion and integrity. She has taught classes on the mind/body connection for the Institute for Health and Healing at California Pacific Medical Center. She often lectures on the field of psycho-neuro-immunology, the study of the connection between stress and the immune system.
Rebecca received her bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida, her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stetson University, and her master's degree in Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary. She is trained and certified in Interactive Guided Imagery, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and Medical Hypnotherapy. She holds an active California license in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFC33590) and is in the application process for licensure in South Carolina. She was called and ordained by a non-denominational church in Napa, California and has officiated at weddings and memorials throughout the country.
Rebecca is an active member of numerous professional associations including the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the Imagery International Association, the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and Spiritual Directors International.
Besides working with individuals, couples, and groups, Rebecca gives professional trainings and consultations for churches and hospitals. She has recently served on the staff of an Oakland church, offering trainings in leadership development, communication, and conflict resolution. |
